Now Samsung Galaxy Note 2 can upgrade to android 4.4.2 KitKat with build number N7100XXUFND3.It's have many tool for upgrade Galaxy Note 2, but in this topic we will show you to upgrade Galaxy Note 2 with tool "CF-Auto-Root" by Chainfire. With this tool when root finished, all program, sms, contact,......still in your phone, not lose any data.
The CF-Auto-Root has SuperSU binary and Apk as well as stock recovery installed. It allows user root without any difficulty.
Note: This root we tested and worked with Samsung Galaxy Note 2 android 4.4.2 KitKet and build number N7100XXUFND3. Beside of this device we are not responsible if have any problem with your smart phone.
Step1- Before we start to root, please look at the requirement below:
1- Check your phone android and build version make sure android 4.4.2 KitKet and build number N7100XXUFND3
2- For transfer file between android device and computer, please install USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Note 2
3- Enable "Developer Options" by go to Setting -> About -> Tap on build number several times until message appear about Developer Option enable
4- Enable "USB Debugging" mode by go to Setting -> Developer Options -> tick on USB Debugging
5- For safe with your file, please backup all data in phone for escape lose data when you have wrong rooting
6- Charge your phone make sure battery above 80%. If your phone power off during rooting, it could damage the device
7- Make sure factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier.
8- Your manufacturer's warranty will be lose after root.
9- Verify build number and android device make sure are correctly before apply CF-Auto-Root file
Step2- Download the requirement file below:
1- download USB Driver for Samsung Galaxy Note 2
2- download file CF-Auto-Root
3- download Odin 3.09
Step3- Start to root Galaxy Note 2
1- Extract the downloaded file "CF-Auto-Root" and "Odin"
2- Switch of the Galaxy Note 2
3- Enter the Download Mode by pressing Volume Down, Home and Power button together until a construction Android robot icon with a warning triangle appears on the phone's screen. Press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode
4- Run Odin in computer As Administrator
5- Connect your phone into computer using USB cable. Wait for some time until Odin detect the device. When your phone is connected successfully, the Added message will appear in Odin message box. The ID:COM box in Odin will turn blue with the COM port number indicating successful connection
Note: Try to use other USB port if Added message do not appear. If Odin still fail to recognize the device try to reinstall USB driver
6- In Odin click AP button and select file "CF-Auto-Root" in folder that you just extracted earlier
7- Please make sure the Auto-Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxs are ticked. And other option is not selected
8- Click Start button in Odin to start root your device, it's take the few minutes to complete
9- When process is completed, the phone will restart. In the extreme left box at the top of Odin have a PASS message with green background. You can unplug USB cable from the phone to disconnect from computer
Now your Galaxy Note 2 running on android 4.4.2 KitKat device has been root successfully. You can check the application SuperSU or you can try to download Root Checker from the play store to check the status in your phone.
